Celebrating Tyler’s First Birthday

It’s a big day for little Tyler! He’s official one years old and it’s his first real birthday celebration! And he sure did enjoy it with tons of family and friends by his side, lots of love and attention, and CAKE! Happy first birthday, Superman!

Not quite sure on what this foreign food is, Tyler is skeptical …

It appears that Tyler is still not entirely sure what he thinks of all this attention and this sweet substance that his mom keeps putting in his mouth…

This Superman decides he likes the sweet icing and feeding himself …

But apparently the spoon wasn’t quite cutting it so…

Baby John’s Baptism

“The Church does not dispense the sacrament of baptism in order to acquire for herself an increase in membership but in order to consecrate a human being to God and to communicate to that person the divine gift of birth from God.” – Hans Urs von Balthasar.

It means so much to me that the Shea family hired me to document baby John’s baptism. Being Catholic, I know the significance of this event and it was a wonderful experience watching their son go through the sacrament. After meeting this family years ago and getting to know them, I love how much this family stresses not only the importance of family life, but the importance of faith in their lives. Watching their interaction with one another and with their family and friends, it is evident that they have powerful faith in God and that God’s presence is strong.

  

Meet Newborn Charlie

What an amazing feeling to know that when a family hears news that they’re expecting, that one of the first people they call is their photographer! But most importantly, congratulations to Erica and David on their firstborn! I had the pleasure of meeting this little man only two days after he was born and right off the bat, I could tell that this family was meant to be. I have never seen such natural nurturing and parental instinct. Being the first baby in this family, aside from their pets, the entire family was thrilled to have Charlie and was lovingly fighting over who got to hold him next. Moments like these make me love my job!

Will’s First Birthday

Happy first birthday, Will! Always a blessing to have a child and to celebrate their first birthday – their first cake, their first interraction with many family and friends, their first official celebration since their birth. It was a pleasure meeting and working with Will and his family on this joyous day, and Will made my job easy with him being so photogenic (he LOVED the camera and especially loved when I played peek-a-boo, hiding behind the camera and popping back out again).

Rose’s First Birthday

Sweet Rose turned one and was completely surrounded by her closest friends and family. It was a fiesta filled with an abundance of food, sweets, and fun activities… the biggest and most special being the cake-smashing! Like most one-year olds, she wasn’t quite sure what to make of the big cake set in front of her, but after a while she went all hands in! Thank you to Leslie and Brian for asking me to be a part of Rose’s special day and moment!

Charlie Brotman’s Birthday Celebration

Starting off the new year right as Charlie Brotman, the presidential inaugural’s announcer for the past sixty-three years, turned eighty-five. They celebrated it at Georgetown’s Tony and Joe’s, a celebration filled with old and new friends and an official roasting. I was excited and proud to be a part of the celebration, and enjoyed the jokes and memories shared. Below is just a highlight of the event!
